David (Scrubby) you were a great cousin and friend. I sure will miss all the great times we shared as children and later as we grew into men. May God welcome you with open arms and play a couple of polkas for the Lord and get heaven dancing just like you did on earth. Love and peace forever!

Scrubby – growing up in North Tonawanda and listening to and watching the Dynatones play such fantastic polka music are memories I will never forget. I learned to play play drums to that Dynatones Buffalo tempo. A hero indeed! You will be missed. God speed!

Oh Scrubby. How we will miss you. How we loved/still love you. You were so talented and so sweet. You remain in my prayers. And as I told Larry when Karen let me know, with a nod to rock n’ roll, if there’s a polka heaven, they’ve got a hell of a band. God bless you, Scrubby, with all my love, rest in peace. And DZIEKUJE, dear, dear friend.

Thanks, TZ, for your tribute tonight. So many people are in Pulaski for the festival but those of us who couldn’t go, it’s sweet to hear 3 hours of dear Scrubby tonight.

    Love,
    Linda From Minnesota

Hank & Pat, I met you a few times with Larry. Your “Friendly Tavern” was Cheers before there was a Cheers, Sam, Diane, Norm, Coach, Woody, Cliff, et al. You helped the DynaTones be what they were meant to be! You gave a home to a true musical movement and you are such nice people. God and Scrubby are smiling at all the additions of music up there now. Maybe it will be like your Friendly Tavern, The Grill! God bless you. God bless Scrubby. May we all celebrate how blessed we are to have and have had each other all these years.

    Scrub:

Thanks so much for bringing decades of polka happiness to the masses — and, in the process, making my harmonies sound so good. There’s now a void in polkas that will never be filled. But we’re grateful for the legacy you’ve left behind through the countless recordings you did. Need proof that you had the Midas Touch in polkas? They’re playing “Scrubby’s Rap” down here again.

You were, quite literally, one in a million; I will miss you, my brother.

Well said as always, Larry! The Dynatones were a musical Institution that brought joy and happiness to all that went out to hear them play. Not only was Scrubby a wonderful musician and excellent vocalist, no one could entertain as he could! His passing has left a void in the Polka Field that will never be filled with anyone like him! May you rest in God’s Grace Scrubby!

Remember seeing Scrubby at Harty’s Pub Greensburg , Fiedor’s Grove , and at Conneaut Lake Park . Always put on an excellent show . I will continue to play his music on my show . Remember you can’t forget the Polka Personalities who made the music what it is today . Lush , Louie , Wojnarowski . Li’l Wally , and without a dought Scrubby .

I never knew the man personally, but did have the chance and privilege to see him perform on many occasions when the Dynatones appeared in the New England area.
He was one of my favorite musicians and vocalists and the Dynatones will always be my favorite polka band.
Thank you Scrubby for your many contributions to the world of polka music. It would not have been, and will not be, the same without you. Rest in peace.
