Rick Kubic, born and raised on the Southeast of Chicago, learned to play the piano at age 5, switched to drums by age 8, and had his first paying gig at age 11. He lived in both New York City and Los Angeles, and landed a record deal in 1991 with Atlantic Records with NYC-based pop band “Madder Rose”. His enthusiasm for radio burgeoned while touring both in the U.S. and abroad. He joined WJOB, radio located in Hammond Indiana, in 2011 as a radio host and producer having hosted Music Underdogs and the late-night Region After Dark, He currently hosts TheFrunchRoom with his wife Kat Marlow, a variety show that airs LIVE on Fridays. In 2020 he started The Polka Hour which has become increasingly popular. Rick is of Polish heritage on both sides, front and back.
