I’m Dan’s younger brother Alan and i’m a drummer. We started our musical carriers together as young boys. We had a family band for a couple of years Dad on vocals and guitar, Dan on Accordion and I on Drums. Dan was leading our band at 12 and I was 8 years old. We played a lot. Because of the age difference Dan started his own polka band called the HIGHLIGHTERS Dan started writing Polka music when he was a young teenager. Dan and I worked many jobs together but I moved on to Rock and Roll and Pop music while Dan continued with his Polka music and also did some country and gospel music.
When we were kids we covered all the Polka bands especially “Li’l Wally” And we were good. I also had the opportunity to play drums with Bobby Sendra’s band “The Musical Airs” at my wedding. Small world. Dan and I were still sharing musical ideas till the very end. We also did some recording together via internet using Digital equipment and of course modern technology and the internet. Dan lived 1,200 miles away. Dan is truly missed and will forever be in our hearts. I love you Brother

Sincerest “Thank You” to you all (Richie, Don, and Gary) for your Polka tribute to Danny Mack. It was very special and heartfelt to all of us listening. Danny Mack loved playing Polka music and over many years he touched so many lives in a special way. Thank you all for sharing your memories and personal stories of the fun times you had together playing in the Chicago area. He would have enjoyed hearing those tales once again. Thank you Richie, Don, and Gary for the tribute to Danny Mack.
