3rd ANNUAL JAMMERTHON – May 18, 19, & 20th, 2012

Next weekend, we will be holding our 3rd annual JammerThon. The goal is to raise $15,000 to cover our yearly operating expenses to keep the Polka Jammer Network on the air. (IJ airtime fees only cover 42% of our costs.)

This event will take place next Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, May 18th, 19th, & 20th beginning with the POLKA NITE CAP SHOW with Todd Zaganiacz at 6pm Eastern Time on Friday and end at 7pm Eastern Time on Sunday. We have scheduled 29 hours of LIVE programming with pre-recorded shows during the overnight hours. During the JammerThon, the archive will be CLOSED. As was done last year, all shows will be recorded and placed in the archive on Monday morning.

Todd Zaganiacz has put together a new LIVE CD offering called JAM WITH US – VOLUMES 1 & 2. Each CD has 24 selections recorded LIVE and will be available for a donation of $35.00 for either Volume 1 or 2, or $50.00 for both. We will also be offering our earlier releases, and listeners who donate $100.00 will have a choice of 5 LIVE CD’s.

Operators will be on hand to take listener pledges Friday from 6pm – Midnight Eastern Time, Saturday from 7am – Midnight Eastern Time, Sunday from 7am – 7pm Eastern Time.

DISCLAIMER: Due to this special event, IT’S POLKA TIME! with Craig Ebel, the IPA POLKA SHOW, and the WMUA simulcasts will be pre-empted next weekend. Craig Ebel’s syndicated network show will air on Tuesday, May 22nd and placed in the archive. The IPA POLKA SHOW will take next weekend off and production will resume on Saturday, May 26th. We will resume our WMUA simulcasts on Saturday, May 26th as well.

Joni Zychowski Minehart will be hosting a special LIVE remote from the Lisa Biskup Memorial Dance in Wyandotte, MI taking place this Saturday, April 28th from 5:00-6:30pm EDT (4:00-5:30pm CDT).

As a result, the IPA POLKA SHOW will air from 10:00-11:00pm EDT (9:00-10:00pm CDT) and CENTER STAGE from 11:00pm-12:00am EDT (10:00-11:00pm CDT). Hope you can tune in!

Schedule Change for CENTER STAGE & COUSIN OZZIE’S BASEMENT

In order that we can best optimize our listenership, we will be making a couple of schedule changes effective this coming Saturday, April 21st:

The Sunday rebroadcast of CENTER STAGE with Sandy Lewandowski will now air on Saturday nights from 6-7pm Eastern Time (5-6pm Central).

COUSIN OZZIE’S BASEMENT with Dick Ozimek will now air one hour earlier on Sunday nights from 7-9pm Eastern Time (6-8pm Central). Dick’s Wednesday afternoon rebroadcast is unchanged.

Polkas From The Barn/Polkas In Vogue

We have been informed that the “Polkas From The Barn” show has ceased production after 8 years. The final edition will air this coming Saturday afternoon from 6-7pm EST (5-6pm CST). We would like to wish Jimmy Benaczeski all the best in his future endeavors.

As a result of this change, Ron Raczkowski will be launching a brand new LIVE show along with his wife Kathy called “Polkas In Vogue”. Their show will air on Thursday nights from 10-11pm EST (9-10pm CST) after the “Wonderful World Of Polkas” beginning Thursday, January 5th.

Danny Mack to retire from Internet Radio

After 3 years of entertaining online audiences with his POLKAS FOR SNOWBIRDS show, Danny Mack will be calling it quits on Christmas Day. He has decided to retire from Internet Radio altogether to concentrate on his music.

The final edition of POLKAS FOR SNOWBIRDS will air on Sunday, December 25th from 11am – 12pm EST (10am – 11am CST).

We would like to thank Danny for his dedication to our network, and wish him all the best in his retirement!

Polka Nite Cap Tribute to Lenny Gomulka/It’s Polka Time! Christmas Special

Tonight, THE POLKA NITE CAP with Todd Zaganiacz will present a tribute to the one and only Lenny Gomulka. Todd will be playing many of the tunes Lenny made famous throughout his career. Join Todd tonight LIVE from 7-11pm Eastern Time (6-10pm Central) for this special show.

On Saturday, December 17th, we will be presenting the “It’s Polka Time! Christmas Special”. As you may know, Craig Ebel hosts a nationally syndicated polka show which airs on 25 radio stations including the PJN. We like to give our listeners a rare opportunity to hear Craig do a program outside of his syndicated network show. Join Craig along with his booth annoucer: Fred “The Ax” Axberg, and Craig’s son Christopher this coming Saturday as they play Christmas polkas and pop music.

The “It’s Polka Time! Christmas Special” airs this Saturday, December 17th from
1-3pm Eastern Time (12-2pm Central) exclusively on the Polka Jammer Network.

Change In Streaming Provider

Due to service quality issues, we will be replacing our current streaming provider effective on Monday, November 14th. Users of SHOUTCAST, RealPlayer, & QuickTime will need to go to our home page and click on the updated stream links to reset the presets in your audio players. Users of Windows Media Player should not be affected, as we will change the link feed on our website.

We have submitted feed updates to various Internet radio directories including TuneIn Radio, which enables users of smartphones to tune in to our feed and Reciva, which allows users of Desktop Internet Radios to tune into our feed. You may experience a temporary outage while these companies update their sites. If you no longer receive these sites, e-mail Jim Kucharski at chainsaw@polkajammernetwork.org, and he will personally get after these folks to make certain that the Polka Jammer Network is listed on those sites.

While we don’t take changes in streaming providers lightly, this had to be done in order that we can provide you and our IJ’s with the highest quality of service that you expect. Thank you so much for your kind and continued support!
